Consider it a gift....

Hello, My friends!
Here's a Bible verse for the week:
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when test and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. James 1: 2-4 (the Message)

Another week is coming to an end and the above verse has challenged me in terms of how I dealt with the hike last weekend and dealing with the uncertainty of what my schedule will look like here in Cape Town…I have to keep reminding myself to continue trusting in God and that He is in control…..I’m starting to do some admin work in the office and this afternoon, Denzel and I have a meeting with the Director at the SOS Children’s Village to find out if there are other ways I can serve them there. Hopefully we will be able to come up with a schedule for my work. I’ve also been talking with Rolf, the YFC Cape Town Director and he feels I should not stay at the volunteer house until Rita gets here around June 1st. He thinks the age difference and just living with so many people will have negative affects on my experience, so he is looking to see if we can find a furnished efficiency apt I can live in for a few months….so a move might be in the near future. However, next week the whole team is going on a team building trip. We are going to an area about an hour north of Cape Town that is supposed to be beautiful. There are 22 waterfalls in the area that we can walk to as well as many other activities. My only reservation is we are camping out for the 4 nights and I’m thinking that may be a little much for me!! I was trying to push to stay 2 nights in cottages there and camping 2 nights, but the others didn’t buy it!! So, yet another step outside my comfort zone! I’m told the area is so awesome that I’m sure the benefits will outshine the sleeping arrangements! I’m told it’s a great place to walk by yourself and just be with God and nature, so I’m really looking forward to some God Walks!! Since we will be gone all week I won’t be able to update until the following week, but hopefully I can upload a couple pictures from the week….anyway, take care my friends, stay warm and safe, I hear more storms are heading your way!!
